John, thanks so much for posting these videos. Just
saw the first one. I did an intense research on this stuff a few years back.
Starting with the Todd Bentley thing, that led me to Branham, Kenyon et al. One
of the saddest things to have happened to Christianity that is for sure.
I was involved in a charismatic small church one time, but God got me out of there. Was very concerned about those left there, but it was like God spoke to my heart and said if they truly are seeking me, they will find me.
They tried to get me to listen to Copeland, and I could not stand to listen to him, troubled my spirit greatly, he was saying well if they don't want to be wealthy etc, then who cares or something like that.
Then I went to the bible and here it is:
1Ti 6:3 If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness;
1Ti 6:4 He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings,
1Ti 6:5 Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself.
1Ti 6:6 But godliness with contentment is great gain.
1Ti 6:7 For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.
1Ti 6:8 And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.
1Ti 6:9 But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition.
1Ti 6:10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.
1Ti 6:11 But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.
1Ti 6:12 Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.
Why is this so tough for people to understand, godliness is not gain. We have never been promised the easy rich life here on this earth. God help us, and those who are caught in this snare of the devil.
